ASPIRATOR SERVICE & REPAIR
INSPECTION, PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE, TROUBLESHOOTING & REPAIR FOR DODGE WATERLESS AND LEGACY ASPIRATOR SYSTEMS.
ASPIRATOR SERVICE & PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE.
Cantrell's Sales LLC provides inspection, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for preparation-room aspirator systems. Depending on the model and condition, service may include pump assemblies, internal tubing, bearings and rotating components, electrical wiring and controls, hoses, fittings suction performance, leaks, mechanical hardware, and internal contamination or corrosion.
Our goal is to evaluate the complete system, determine the actual cause of the problem, and repair serviceable components whenever practical.

DODGE WATERLESS ASPIRATOR SERVICE
The Dodge Waterless Aspirator uses a peristaltic pump system to create suction. Inside the pump head is a flexible peristaltic pump tubing, commonly referred to as the pump tube.
As the pump operates, the rotating mechanism repeatedly compresses the tubing against the pump housing. This progressive compression moves material through the tube while the tubing's recovery helps create the vacuum necessary for suction.
Because the pump tube is continuously compressed during operation, it is a normal wear component and should be inspected as part off preventative maintenance.

PERISTALTIC PUMP TUBING IS A WEAR COMPONENT
Over time, the internal tubing can thin, deteriorate, or eventually wear through. Once a hole develops, material that should remain contained inside the tubing can escape into the pump housing and eventually leak out of the pump housing.
If the machine continues operating after the tube fails, contamination, corrosion, and damage to internal pump components can be progressively more severe.
REAL DODGE ASPIRATOR REPAIR
In this repair example, the peristaltic pump tubing had worn through and developed a visible hole. This is a common failure point on Dodge Waterless Aspirators because the tubing is a normal wear component inside the pump head.
Fortunately, this unit was taken out of service before the internal damage became too expensive. Cantrell's disassembled the pump assembly, removed the failed tubing, inspected the internal components, cleared contamination and rust where possible, thoroughly cleaned and disinfected the assembly, lubricated applicable bearings and internal components, installed new pump tubing, and reassembled the pump.
Because the problem was addressed in time, the pump housing and usable internals were able to be saved and returned to service.

AFTER INTERNAL/ EXTERNAL CLEANING & NEW PUMP TUBE INSTALLATION

When caught in time, a leaking Dodge Waterless Aspirator doesn't require complete pump replacement. If leakage continues too long, internal components can corrode and deteriorate to the point that replacement becomes necessary. Preventive maintenance is the best approach, but stopping use and responding quickly to a leak can still significantly reduce the extent of the repair.
PREVENTATIVE PUMP-TUBE REPLACEMENT
Based on our field experience servicing Dodge Waterless Aspirators, Cantrell's recommends routine inspection of the peristaltic pump tubing and considering preventative maintenance replacement approximately once per year, depending on equipment use and condition.
The pump tube is a relatively inexpensive wear component compared with the cost of repairing internal contamination or replacing the complete pump assembly. Periodic replacement can help reduce the chance of an unexpected tubing failure and the contamination that can follow.

THE PUMP HOUSING SHOULD REMAIN VISIBLY CLEAN!
The transparent pump housing provides a useful visual indication of what is happening inside the assembly. Heavy discoloration, residue, or contamination can indicate that material has escaped the pump tube and entered the pump housing.
Compare this pump with the cleaned assembly shown above. When a pump-tube leak is caught early, contamination can often be removed before corrosion and permanent damage become severe.
LEGACY ASPIRATOR SERVICE
Cantrell's also services and evaluates older aspirator systems, including Champion Electro and Legacy Edwards/Pierce aspirators.
Legacy aspirators can use very different mechanical, plumbing, and drive-system designs from modern Dodge Waterless Aspirators. Depending on the model, condition and availability of replacement components, Cantrell's can inspect and service pumps, valves, hoses and tubing, fittings, seals drive components, suction systems and other serviceable parts.
Because many of these systems have been in service for decades and replacement parts may be limited, Each aspirator is evaluated individually. When components remain serviceable or replacements are available, older equipment can often continue operating without automatically replacing the entire system.
EXPERIENCE WITH OLDER ASPIRATOR DESIGNS

Older does not automatically mean unrepairable. Cantrell's evaluates each system based on its design, condition, available components, and practical repair options.
