MORE THAN A PERFORMANCE CHECK

BEFORE WE OPEN THE MACHINE, WE OPERATE IT.

When possible, every service begins by operating the machine as it sits. We evaluate pressure, flow and overall operation while watching and listening for signs that point us toward the problem.

EXPERIENCE TELLS US WHERE TO LOOK.

In this case the machine was operating—but not functioning as it should. The initial evaluation gave us a starting point before the cover came off.

OPEN & DIAGNOSE

The initial operational check narrowed the problem to the machine's flow-control system. Once the machine was opened, the failed solenoid was identified.

THE REPAIR ISN'T COMPLETE UNTIL THE MACHINE PROVES IT.

After replacement, the machine is operated through its functions to verify proper pressure, flow, mixing, injection and pulsation.

TURN THE SOUND ON.

Listen to the strong, distinct actuation as the solenoid opens and closes during pulsation. That sound is one of the operational characteristics we evaluate when servicing these machines.

COULD THIS HAVE BEEN CAUGHT EARLIER?

OFTEN, THE WARNING SIGNS COME FIRST.

On many embalming machines equipped with a pulsation, a solenoid repeatedly opens and closes the fluid path to create the pulsating flow. A properly operating solenoid typically produces a strong, distinct actuation that can be heard—and felt in the resulting flow.

As solenoids and other components begin to deteriorate, changes in sound, pulsation, flow or overall operation can provide early indications that something isn't working as it should.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE IS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.

A WEAK COMPONENT MAY BECOME A FAILURE.
A SMALL LEAK MAY BECOME A MAJOR REPAIR.

Not every problem begins with a machine that won't run. Changes in sound, flow, pressure, leaks, corrosion and component condition can provide warning before a larger failure occurs.

WHEN A LEAK BECOMES MORE THAN A LEAK.

Severe corrosion inside Porti-Boy embalming machine caused by an internal leak

This Porti-Boy remained in service while fluid continued leaking inside the machine. Over time, the exposure caused severe corrosion and deterioration of the motor housing.

A SMALL LEAK LEFT UNCHECKED CAN BECOME A MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE REPAIR.

THE VALUE IS FINDING IT EARLY.

Routine service gives us the opportunity to evaluate the machine before developing problems become failures. The goal isn't to simply keep it running today— its to identify what could keep it from running tomorrow.
